Our caregivers come from diverse backgrounds hailing from Singapore and other countries such as Myanmar, Vietnam and the Philippines. Our local caregivers have years of experience either working as professional caregivers or have performed caregiving duties in their personal capacity before. Our international caregivers either have experience working as domestic helpers in Singapore and/or have undergone relevant training to perform elder-minding services for households under the Household Services Scheme by the Ministry of Manpower. Rest assured that your elderly parents are in safe and capable hands when you work with our caregivers.

All changes with regard to your care session with us need to be notified a minimum of 48 hours before-hand. If you wish to cancel your session with Helpling, you need to give at least a two day notice.

If wish to continue your session, but wish to shorten the length of time you had originally booked, 48-hour lead time is also required.

Cancellations or changes to your booking less than 48 hours beforehand will incur a penalty equivalent to 50% of the value of the care session, or hours shortened.

Example:
You booked a 3-hour session at $20 per hour, totaling $63.9(including service charge), but cancel the session the night before. You will incur a $31.95 charge on your card.

Example 2:
You booked an 8-hour care session at $18 per hour, totalling $147.9, but wish to shorten your session by 3 hours (with less than 48 hour notice). You will incur 1.5 hours worth of charges for the shortening of the session (1.5 x $18 = $27).

Your rates as a Singlife customer are as follows:
– $20 per hour for non-recurring elder care sessions(3-6 hours)
– $19 per hour for non-recurring elder care sessions (6+ hours)

– $19 per hour for recurring elder care sessions (3-6 hours)
– $18 per hour for recurring (6+ hours)

Our Care Professionals can speak conversational English. We have caregivers who may be able to understand basic Mandarin and dialects, e.g. Hokkien, and Cantonese.

Our caregivers are able to care for both your parents, so long as the allocated time you book for their requirements is enough.

Our caregivers are also professionally trained housekeepers that can help with chores around the home such as cleaning, laundry, wiping down of surfaces, and dishes.

Yes, you can request the same caregiver, provided that they are available. This is why we ask our customers if they wish to potentially engage our caregiving services on a recurring basis, so that we can match them with a caregiver that has the same availability in the following weeks, in case they wish to keep having the same caregiver for their loved ones.

Definitely! To ensure that you find the best fit for your caregiving needs, here are some factors apart from experience to consider:

– Whether the caregiver is able to communicate in the same language(s) as your elderly parent
– Ratings and reviews of the caregiver
– Whether the caregiver has handled a similar caregiving situation to your current needs. Most importantly, once you have decided on a caregiver, try it out and see if the caregiver is a good fit for your elderly parent. As of March 2023, the Home Caregiving Grant has been enhanced by the government to better assist families requiring assistance for care-related expenses.

The Home Caregiving Grant aids families with a monthly payout of $250 or $400 in cash to Singaporeans who provide care for their loved ones requiring assisted daily living with moderate to severe disabilities.
