“Su Wai has relieved me by providing caregiving to my parents in so many ways. She helps me to wheel my father around the estate. She also takes over from my elderly mother slightly more challenging household chores like washing the toilets and cleaning the windows.

So far, she has always been on time, knowing how my elderly folks appreciate punctuality. She’s also very patient with them. Thank you Su Wai!”

“Su Mon is pleasant and strives to improve. She is a versatile caregiver and aims to understand the needs of my family. Punctuality was something that previously was a major concern that the Helpling team helped to resolve, to which we are appreciative of. Su Mon has helped us for a few weeks now and we value and trust her.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Our caregivers come from diverse backgrounds hailing from Singapore and other countries such as Myanmar, Vietnam and the Philippines. Our local caregivers have years of experience either working as professional caregivers or have performed caregiving duties in their personal capacity before. Our international caregivers either have experience working as domestic helpers in Singapore and/or have undergone relevant training to perform elder-minding services for households under the Household Services Scheme by the Ministry of Manpower. Rest assured that your elderly parents are in safe and capable hands when you work with our caregivers.
All changes with regard to your care session with us need to be notified a minimum of 48 hours before-hand. If you wish to cancel your session with us, you need to give at least a two day notice.

If wish to continue your session, but wish to shorten the length of time you had originally booked, please also notify us a minimum of 48 hours before-hand.

Cancellations or changes to your booking less than 48 hours beforehand will incur a penalty equivalent to 50% of the value of the care session, or hours shortened.

Example:
You booked a 3-hour session at $23 per hour, totalling $69 hours, but cancel the session the night before. You will incur a $34.5 penalty.

Example 2:
You booked an 8-hour care session at $23 per hour, totalling $184, but wish to shorten your session by 3 hours (with less than 48 hour notice). You will incur 1.5 hours worth of charges for the shortening of the session (1.5 x $23 = $34.5)
We offer discounted rates to customers that commit to at least 3 care sessions with us on schedules that are either weekly, or fortnightly at the minimum.
Our Care Professionals can speak conversational English. We have caregivers who may be able to understand basic Mandarin and dialects, e.g. Hokkien, and Cantonese.
Our caregivers are able to care for both your parents, so long as the allocated time you book for their requirements is enough.

Our caregivers are also professionally trained housekeepers that can help with chores around the home such as cleaning, laundry, wiping down of surfaces, and dishes.

We have babysitting services specifically for children. Our caregivers are specialized in providing care to elderly only. If you require a babysitter, you can check out our page at https://www.helpling.com.sg/childcare
Yes, you can request the same caregiver, provided that they are available. This is why we ask our customers if they wish to potentially engage our caregiving services on a recurring basis, so that we can match them with a caregiver that has the same availability in the following weeks, in case they wish to keep having the same caregiver for their loved ones.
Definitely! To ensure that you find the best fit for your caregiving needs, here are some factors apart from experience to consider:

– Whether the caregiver is able to communicate in the same language(s) as your elderly parent
– Ratings and reviews of the caregiver
– Whether the caregiver has handled a similar caregiving situation to your current needs. Most importantly, once you have decided on a caregiver, try it out and see if the caregiver is a good fit for your elderly parent. Sometimes, a candidate may sound great on paper but you can only find the most suitable caregiver once you try it out. Our Home Advisors are here to help with the caregiving selection process!
As of March 2023, the Home Caregiving Grant has been enhanced by the government to better assist families requiring assistance for care-related expenses.

The Home Caregiving Grant aids families with a monthly payout of $250 or $400 in cash to Singaporeans who provide care for their loved ones requiring assisted daily living with moderate to severe disabilities. Speak to our agent to find out if you are eligible.

Why Singaporean Families Choose Part-time Caregivers

Sometimes a live-in caregiver isn’t the best option for families because they only need someone for the short-term, cover for their full-time help, or to give the primary caregiver some rest. Some of the more common reasons family choose to go with Helpling Care are as follows:

  • Flexibility and convenience to arrange help only for the hours that you need it
  • Only need short-term care for situations like post-hospitalization
  • Temporary replacement for primary caregivers on leave
  • Maintaining your family’s privacy

Home Caregiving Grant: Making Elderly Home Care Affordable

The Home Caregiving Grant can help make care for your loved ones more affordable. The Singapore government offers a Home Caregiving Grant to help alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with caregiving.
